A Fascination with Shiny Things & Fleeting Nature

Corvids—the crows, ravens, and magpies of our northern canopies—are renowned for their keen intelligence and peculiar habit of collecting gleaming trinkets, shiny pebbles, and botanical curios. Corvid Sensibilities was founded on that exact kindred spirit.

As a solitary maker based in Nova Scotia, every piece begins with careful foraging on quiet walks through boreal forests, coastal shorelines, and mist-covered valleys.

Botanicals are selected with care and preserved in my workshop in a sustainable manner: Invasive or ornamental species are harvested preferentially, and native flora and fungi are only collected when populations are abundant year-over-year. Protected species are never exploited.

"Found taxidermy" includes naturally discovered carcasses of animals, vertebrates and invertebrates, alike.

When clients entrust me with their beloved pets' items, or irreplaceable family items, they should feel safe knowing this is my passion: giving fleeting, irreplaceable bonds a permanent home in wearable art.

The Ethical Foraging Manifesto

1. Windfall & Ground Gather Only

We never strip living plants, rip bark from standing trees, or take more than 5% of fallen flora from any single grove.

2. Naturally Shed Whisker Protocol

We strictly accept whiskers found shed naturally around your home. Whiskers are vital sensory organs and must never be plucked.

3. Recycled & Ethical Metals

Over 80% of our copper and silver is sourced from certified recycled jewelers' refine stocks, reducing environmental impact.

4. Cruelty-Free Feathers & Wing Shells

All corvid feathers are collected after natural molt seasons, and beetle wing shells are collected post-lifecycle.
